Floating and Pregnancy

Picture
ll future mothers know how important it is that the baby develops normally in the womb, surrounded by kindness, calmness and love. Many people are saying that the rhythm of modern life does not allow for anything else, however, we strongly feel that these are all excuses

I had a spiritual expErience in a sensory dePrivation pod. Here’s why they are so healing.

Picture
I was first drawn to float tanks by stories I’d heard that sounded like mind-altering drug trips except the people telling them were completely sober. They were, quite simply, just floating on water. I had to try it and figure out for myself what made it a life-changing experience for so many.

You can find these studies in Bood's dissertation Bending and Mending the Neurosignature: Frameworks of influence by floatation-REST.

FAQ about the floating cabin experience

Picture
“An isolation tank is a lightless, soundproof tank inside which subjects float in salt water at skin temperature. They were first used by John C. Lilly in 1954 to test the effects of sensory deprivation. Such tanks are now also used for meditation and relaxation and in alternative medicine. The isolation tank was originally called the sensory deprivation tank. Other names for the isolation tank include flotation tank, John C. Lilly tank, REST tank, float spa, sensory attenuation tank, and think tank.” [1]

Ten Tips to Help You Relax Like a Master in a Float Tank

How I tried a float tank and experienced the ultimate form of relaxation.
Picture
My expectations were low as the automatic lid slowly lowered and latched shut on the tank. My body was floating on the Epsom salt and water mix and a blue glow surrounded me. I hit the button next to me and was immersed in total darkness. I felt like Spock about to be launched from the Enterprise for a proper Federation burial in space.

Float hopes.

The Strange New Science of Floating
They started late one night, the tremors that shook Michael Harding’s whole body when he lay down to sleep. “A bit weird,” thought Harding, then a 23-year-old Australian soldier stationed in Afghanistan. Just days before, he’d been in an hours-long siege in which his second-in-command was shot and killed.
